Students Association
This bye law is neither a code nor an act and as such, the
rules therein can not be subjected to any legal interpretation or
challenge in the court of law. These rules are for the convenient
execution of various activities of the college. It is the discretion of
the Principal to add, alter or annule any rule embodied in the
document for the smooth working of the institution in the interest
and general welfare of the students.
STUDENTS’ASSOCIATIONS AND SOCIETIES :
The college maintains a number of associations and societies
to foster different cultural activities such as holding debates, reading
papers, panel discussions and arranging lectures and symposium
etc. among the students. The members of the staff of the subjects
concerned participate and steer the discussion in such meeting.
Government Guidelines for college election
For the propose of election of the office bearers the
Government principal shall fix the date.
Govt, has laid down the following guide lines vide its letter
26428 dt. 28.8.2010 to be followed during the college union election,
other societies / Associations of +3 and +2 student
- Undergraduate students between the ages of 15 and 22 and
post graduate students with the maximum age limit of 24-25
years may contest elections.
- The candidate should in no event have any academic arrears
in the year of contesting the election.
- The candidate should have attained the minimum percentage
of attendance as prescribed by the University or 75%
attendance, whichever is higher.
- The candidate shall have one opportunity to contest for the
post of office bearer and two opportunities to contest for the
post of an executive member.
- The candidate shall not have a previous criminal record, that
is to say he should not have been tried and/or convicted of
any criminal offence or misdemeanor. The candidate shall also
not have been subject to any disciplinary action by the
University authorities.
- The candidate must be a regular, full time student of the college!
and should not be a distance/proximate education student.
- In addition to this the contestants are warned not to disfigure
any part of the college building with names, slogans, or other
propaganda materials like posters, banners or wall paintings
etc. on the walls or in any other place on the college building.
ELECTION-RELATED EXPENDITURE AND FINANCE ACCOUNTABILITY
- The Maximum permitted expenditure per candidate shall be
Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only)
- Each candidate shall within two weeks of the declaration of
the result, submit complete and certified (to be certified by
the candidate) accounts to the college authorities. The college
shall publish such accounts within 2 days of submission of
accounts, through a suitable medium so that any member of
the student body may freely examine the same.
- The election of the candidate will be nullified in the event of
any noncompliance-or in the event of any excessive
expenditure.
- With the view to prevent the inflow of funds from political
parties into the student election process, the candidates are
specially barred from utilising funds from any other sources
than voluntary contributions from the student body
